The ice storm left us ice-encrusted limbs of every kind. I spotted this curli-cue and thought it was the most unique. Jacob and I took multiple photos of it and I ended up liking this one of his the best.
More of our ice storm shots can be found in a slideshow here. Caitrin contributed to this grouping as well. The pictures of the backyard fence are hers.
Hope to get back to b&w tomorrow. The colors have been such a refreshing change after the wintry blast, I didn't have the heart to convert them.

This is beautiful!
I know the storms cause severe problems for lots of folks, but they sure are beautiful. You have some great shots!
This is a take your breat away kind of shot. I looked at the whole slide show and was really impressed. I think it is cool that you guys are doing this together! I agree the color in these is just too beautiful to convert to B&W.
Wow Julie, you just keep getting better and better. It is just fabulous. One of my favorites.
That's just gorgeous.
Really just gorgeous. I have come back to it several times today.
I have a Nikon too (the one that is at the hospital) but it is a lower end model and it just cannot do the depth of field that yours can. I'm jealous.
Beth is right, you do just keep getting better at this. Impressive :-).
wonderful shot
This is an intriguing picture; so simple, in a sense, but a lot of depth. I also really like the picture of your front yard (I think) ~ the one with the lamp post in there.
It is a really beautiful shot.
Jacob did a fantastic job. To catch a naturally occuring spiral encrusted in ice with such gorgeous color is a sight to behold. Jeff really liked this shot, too, and your notebook one but has had no time to post comments to anyone.
Jacob and I studied the spiral. IN our first few attempts, he was too high in the frame and I was too circular. So we kept playing with the angle to get that spiral to show up (not be hidden). Then we talked about the thirds principle and tried to move the spiral over to the left side of the frame. Jacob was the one who wanted to capture a reflection in the drop hanging from the sprial.
It was really fun working together like that!
Lol! You are saying you like the wide scope of my pictures, and I am thinking that I really want to take up cool shots upclose like you! I don't know if my camera can get that close. I am still trying to figure out how to do that. I really like the "Silver" and "Coke Zero" one too. Very cool close ups.
Wow, this is something else! Excellent focus.
