I have a hard time even reading anything even vaguely interesting on a treadmill or stationary bike. The problem isn't that I can't concentrate on the book but the opposite: within a few moments I'm paying so much attention to the book that I just stop pedaling or running.
But more power to you for reading while on the treadmill. It's certainly better than watching that Fox broadcast up above you.
Can't read while running on the treadmill either. I've finally managed to be able to listen to a podcast (Ebert&Roeper) but only during cooldown when I'm walking. It has to be all music for me when running - loud and with a beat. :)

Oh my, well um, what can I say? You are passionate!
I don't know how you do it. I totally can't concentrate on academic writing when I'm working out.

Nothing like a nice jog and heavy dose of theology! I'm with ianqui, I think I wouldn't be able to do both things at the same time.
