The Cross Town Shootout was tonight (and all day Saturday). Lakota West (our high school) played Elder (one of the schools they call "big boy" football in our town). We were losing 14 - 0 at the half. We came roaring back with three interceptions and two fumble recoveries to bring about a miraculous tying score: 14-14 with only 1:42 left in the game. A bad coaching decision meant that what should have been a fourth down punt by Elder resulted in too many West players on the field and the Elder QB faked the punt and ran for a first down. On the next play, they did a double reverse, faked LWHS out and scored. Heartbreaking loss, but a great game. Jacob's marching band performed for the first time at the half in summer outfits.
I spent the first quarter snapping sunset photos over Nippert Stadium (at University of Cincinnati). Can you believe this?

What a classic slice of Americana here. I love that slice of sunset behind the stadium. Good work.
beautiful sunset.
(sounds like a good game even though you guys lost)
I miss this more than my kids do! Keep the photos coming and I'll live through you! :-)
I was going to make the Americana comment too. You should add the photo to the "Americana" group on Flickr.
What a beautiful sunset.
Gorgeous sunset and an exciting game, despite the loss.... :(
Beautiful sky there! At least the game was exciting.. it's great that Lakota West came back so strongly in the second half - shows guts!
Everyone has said it, but really, this one is got it all!
