For Jon's fiftieth, I spent all last week re-doing our bedroom while Jon was in California. We had neither headboard nor decor on the walls. Our book case was a shambles and we owned no curtains. I also added a beautiful picture of a couple walking under an umbrella on the streets of Paris over our dresser. We love Paris and what it means to us.
I put a bow on the door so that when he opened it when he got home, he discovered the completely transformed boudoir. Oo la la. For other views of the room (four more photos), click here.

That looks so nice. You did a great job. Nice, peaceful, spot for the two of you.
That's so beautiful!
This is awesome, Julie! What a great gift. :-) Was he shocked?

Wow, Julie!
Oh my heck Julie. :-) Having slept in that bedroom (ha!) I can say... wow. I'm sure he was wowed... that was a great gift.
I like the bow on the door. Nice touch.
Oh wow!! So beautiful and restful (yet warm; love the red). You've wanted that for a long time. Good for you for getting it done and for doing such a fantastic job! Tia (adding: make our bedroom look like a grown up space to the to-do list)
nice!
Thanks everyone! It was such a fun project, but so stressful too. I had no idea how many trips to the store were required to purchase really basic items (like pillows and picture frames). :) Or maybe I'm just nto good at it!
Anyway, Jon was shocked and so happy! Made me really feel I'd done a terrific thing.
Looks great! I love what you've done. What a wonderful birthday gift!
I love what you did! That headboard is very nice. I need to do one, too. :-)
This looks wonderful, what a great picture of a neat surprise gift!
