Jacob is exiting the Freshman building for the last time, riding home in the car with me. Next year, the big yellow bus will come for him as he heads into the 10th-12th grade high school.
For the photo: I wanted him to be further out of the building before I depressed the shutter button, but the bus started to move and I needed it in the mirror. :) So that's Jacob, walking out the door, even though he's not as clear as I wish he were.

Neat way to capture all the aspects.
Of course you had to have the bus in the mirror. Sometimes we just have to make sacrifices for our art :0.
My boy officially finished 9th grade on Monday. I am amazed that we made it, even with an solid B in algebra.
I love how you captured the bus in the mirror.
I really like all the thought that went into your picture.
Nice way to capture the memory--with symbolism.
Still amazing despite him not being in the exact place you wanted him! I like how you captured this moment of transition for him.
E is finishing 9th on the 15th. School finishes much later here in CA, I guess....
And she insists on staying home next year, too.
Well, the way the bus is framed in the mirror is pretty cool!
Very cool Pic!
Nathan just finished 9th grade yesterday! No yellow school bus on the horizon but hopefully a driver's license so he can do some of the driving to co-op and community college.
Susan :-)
What a great shot, so much narrative power! You planned this out so well.
