Our first meeting of the Post-Homeschooling Entrepreneurial Network (horrid name which is the first order of business - changing it to a better one!). Of course my electricity went out that afternoon while the brownies were cooking, I hadn't yet vacuumed nor showered and blown dry my hair. Ergo, Cindy (yellow top in front) called everyone to convene at Panera). As I drove to the YMCA to shower, Jon called to let me know the power had returned... Too little too late.
We met here instead and pretty much took over half the eating area.
The goals of PHEN? Help moms transition into work that earns money using their gifts and talents, many of which were revealed during years of homeschool. We had a great first meeting.

What a great idea! I'll be interested in knowing what new name you gals come up with. :-)
Looks like a lively group! Great idea too.
Does sound like a great idea. So, only women in the group, huh?
Well, everyone else said what I wanted to say... what an excellent idea. Did you think of it? I wish I could lived there so I could participate since i find myself in the same situation.
They are all moms but I had one dad ask to come, I told him he could, and then he didn't. Most of the homeschooling world is still female. There are several dad home educators in our co-op now and some dad teachers so that's all good.
But this particular venture tends to be about second-income rather than primary and in the world of homeschoolers, that still tends to imply wife, not husband.
What a wonderful idea! Love, love it -- and glad you had a good meeting, despite the power outage.
Like everyone else, I think this is a nifty idea. Can't say I've discovered any talents while homeschooling these past seven years, though!
OK...I definately need to be part of this group! :-)
