Two photo day. For only $1700, we got to have professional plumbers rip up our front yard to insert a new water line leaving behind torn roots and an unsightly mound of dirt. (See alternate photo to the right.)
Oy. We've got a couple of trees dying out back, and I don't want to think about spending thousands just to cut down our two big trees. Home ownership really is fun, huh?
I feel your pain. A few years ago we had a plumber out to repair a pipe in our bathroom - the home warranty policy covered fixing the pipe but not anything done to access the pipe. We had the lovely choice of repairing drywall *and* re-tiling (with no idea if we could get the same tile) or repairing two large holes in dd's bedroom (sits behind the bathroom) and repainting. This after I'd *just* repainted that wall (dd took marker to it) and a month or so after we just spent months and lots of moula installing, mudding, sanding and repainting our playroom (due to mold remediation). We were reveling in the joys of home ownership as well.

Sorry about the dug up yard and the cost. Ugh.
