Our favorite vacation tradition: eating at the city's Hard Rock Cafe. We're in the booth in the center toward the back.
Too many photos to post right now but we're having a great time. Went bike riding on the lake shore for two hours today. So much fun!

Hard Rock Cafe
Chi-Town
I have so many of Millenium Park to share but flickr is being weird and I need to go get breakfast. I'm just glad one got through. Can you see me way back taking this photo of the fam in front of the bean? :)
We'll be here until Sunday so stay tuned for more urban footage.

Happy Fourth of July!
Our neighborhood put on a fireworks display. Margaret and her husband Robbie joined us for the celebration. My little camera loves fireworks.

Website
My macro just couldn't trap all the spider's details... but I think the light through the web is pretty.
Summer teatime
In winter, we light a fire, make hot tea and read poetry and read alouds every week (confession: nearly every day). Summer has been so hectic, we've been out of our reading routine. Yesterday, that was corrected when Liam and Caitrin asked me to make banana bread to go with our suntea. I gave Caitrin a new book of poetry yesterday. Liam pulled out his old favorite (the best one dollar I've ever spent at a homeschool convention: Best Short Poems). Between the two of them, they read poem after poem alternating for nearly 45 minutes. I waited for my turn to read "Winnie the Pooh," which never came. :)
After drowning in work all week, this was a welcome and much needed respite.
