226: Nada's

I went out on the town by myself. This is Nada's famous grapefruit margarita. Yes, I had two.

224: Happy Father's Day

I was on a memory trip lane this week! This is my dad with me (I was about 5 months). Isn't my dad so cute?

216: Happy Graduation Johannah!

The top photo is my favorite of the day, and the bottom is a symbol of a lot of joy and healing. Happiest of days for my whole family.

Morgan and Johannah (love)

The whole fam, aka "the pod" (a new last name that prefers neither Bogart nor Sweeney ).

211: Composition

I'm not a huge fan of this self-portrait in terms of how I look. But I love the composition of the shot. The dots in the triangle, with the blue fade, the green, my house in the mirror, the white space below... I just liked it.

181: 26.2 Glitterati

Caitrin's jacket (of course) and my new necklace. Let the flaunting begin!

178: Crashing finally

The fatigue from the marathon didn't hit me until Caitrin's voice lesson. I reclined my seat and took a nap while the rain beat down. Felt so good.

166: Mother-Son

It's been too long since I had a photo taken of my adult boy hugging me. He's in England! This is the airport.

139: Aging

Yep, this is how I look when I'm just doing my ordinary make-up-less life.

134: Yummy Dinner Downtown

We loved downtown Greenville. Had dinner at this wonderful restaurant and it was warm enough to eat outside. Beth took this photo too. After dinner we walked over the suspension bridge, shopped in artsy stores, drank coffee in a basement coffee house and then listened to live music at a bar (and were well entertained by the dancers!).

A great end to a fun convention!

110: Irish eyes are smiling

Tyra Banks calls this "smeyezing." (Meaning your eyes smile even when your mouth doesn't.)

Following Sandie's lead with some self-portraiture.

109: Magnetic personalities

These name tags use magnets instead of pins to affix themselves to satin or rayon tops for speaking. At least while at the conventions, I will know "my name." That is not the case in the rest of my daily life.

97: FAFSA and SKYPE

What a day. Jake and I skyped while he filled out his FAFSA in the library at OSU. Then later that day, my computer lost its cursor function which led to all kinds of malfunctions. Spent last evening at the Apple Genius Bar where my hard drive was wiped, system reinstalled. Came home to transfer back up from Time Capsule (which worked!) but this morning, iPhoto is all messed up. Can't upload photos, can't open existing ones. Good thing I took this screen capture yesterday! Why do computer problems mushroom?

95: Ruffled

It's that kind of week.

On my way to Ignite Cincinnati. New top from White House Black Market.

86: Sole Sisters

Solmate Socks has a motto: Life's too short for matching socks. In fact, the children's size socks are sold in threes (a pair and a spare!). Caitrin's choir boosters sold these wonderful socks for a fund raiser in the fall. They are environmentally friendly and the company grew out of the founder's passion for knitting:
Marianne knit over one hundred pairs of socks for family and friends. She then decided to turn her hobby into a business and in the year 2000 Solmate Socks was born. Her colorful and complex patterns are knit in the USA at a family owned knitting mill, hand finished and then "mismatched with care."

The company is run in a small town in central Vermont, where the Socklady is surrounded and inspired by the woods, brook, gardens and hills of the countryside.
The socks are super warm and I'm wearing mine with my green polka dot Xavier jammy pants (given to me by 365'er Margaret). I feel compelled to include some color every few days in this gray time of year.
