111: Theo buddies

It's my blog, I can do what I wanna: Breaking the rules and including two pictures today. Margaret (the beauty) and Adam (the debonair)—my theological partners in crime. Margaret and I went through grad school together, from starting class to ending one. Adam is professor of black theology and his class is the reason I attend his church!

Last night was our annual graduate student alumni reunion dinner at Xavier. Topic: Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" as model of theological response to 9/11.

110: Irish eyes are smiling

Tyra Banks calls this "smeyezing." (Meaning your eyes smile even when your mouth doesn't.)

Following Sandie's lead with some self-portraiture.

109: Magnetic personalities

These name tags use magnets instead of pins to affix themselves to satin or rayon tops for speaking. At least while at the conventions, I will know "my name." That is not the case in the rest of my daily life.

108: Meet the new help

who is entirely awesome! Debbie-to-the-rescue! We're learning how to use the "knuckle breaker" (aka, old fashioned credit card slider) in preparation for my first convention (we leave for Memphis a week from tomorrow!).

107: Under my umbrella-ella-ella

Spent two parts of this rainy day in two different Paneras. First one: breakfast date with visiting-my-town sweetie. Second one: business meeting to proof awesome Brave Writer promotional piece for conventions. Rainy day ended with a flooded basement and bailing water. I prefer snow.

Photo comments: I like that you can see the droplets on the umbrella and I'm appreciative of the yellow Nissan that color-coordinated with the Panera sign, since I'm all about color.

106: High Five

Yesterday's trip to Ohio State with the three on the right to visit the two on the left. So much laughing.
