Especially on the day I drafted Carson Palmer to my first fantasy football team.
(However, even I, the fan-girl, found these expressions of devotion over the top.)

Divinely feminine
Last night was the final meeting of the Nexus church book group where we discussed chapters from Elizabeth Johnson's She Who Is. This vase was the thank-you gift for leading the discussion. :)
It's what's for dinner...
Besides spaghetti and pizza, chicken and olive tagine topped with French fries (Moroccan) is the only other meal everyone in the whole family loves and eats until the plate is licked clean.

Chipotle, sky, van
I loved the sky the other day and noticed the way it looked in the big windows of Chipotle as I dropped Jacob off. Then I noticed the double reflection of the sky in the windows in the windows of the van.
I never get tired of reflection photos.

Manatee
Yeah, homeschool is a rough life. Takes sheer commitment. We had to go to the zoo when no one was there and have the manatees all to ourselves... even the viewing bubble. Someone's got to do it.

First Day for the rest of us
How could I not post this photo?
Jacob's very first day of fulltime school. It felt a bit like sending my child off to Kindergarten and college all at the same time: first ride on the bus but tough courses and lots of independence.

Saturday Night Lights
The Cross Town Shootout was tonight (and all day Saturday). Lakota West (our high school) played Elder (one of the schools they call "big boy" football in our town). We were losing 14 - 0 at the half. We came roaring back with three interceptions and two fumble recoveries to bring about a miraculous tying score: 14-14 with only 1:42 left in the game. A bad coaching decision meant that what should have been a fourth down punt by Elder resulted in too many West players on the field and the Elder QB faked the punt and ran for a first down. On the next play, they did a double reverse, faked LWHS out and scored. Heartbreaking loss, but a great game. Jacob's marching band performed for the first time at the half in summer outfits.
I spent the first quarter snapping sunset photos over Nippert Stadium (at University of Cincinnati). Can you believe this?
