76: Mr. Blue Sky

please tell us why you had to hide away for so long (so long), where did we go wrong?... Mr. Blue Sky's up there waitin' and today is the day we waited for... hey hey! (ELO)

Such a relief to see the blue blue sky and the warm glowing sun, even if the temps were in single digits all day. (As I'm posting near midnight, it's -5º right now!) This is the view from my deck, near the bird feeders that hang above the spindly snow-laden bush (on the right) featured yesterday.

75: Snowy Suet Feeding

I've taken hundreds of birds-on-the-feeders photos in the last 75 days and have rejected them all. This still isn't quite the picture I wanted, but it's as clear as I seem able to get with my point n shoot. Plus, Carolina Wrens are my favorites. And it snowed like crazy today!

74: The view from below

It seemed important to remember just how gray it is in winter. At least the branches make a nice silhouette!

73: Dude, where's my bus?

I'm waiting in the rain, at the light, of the parking lot, before 7:00 a.m., with hundreds of parents, after dropping off child number one, schlepping child number two to the next school when what appears in the corner of my eye? A SCHOOL BUS! Dub-tee-eff!?

(The fine print: elementary and junior high kids still have the privilege of district funded rides... Man....!)

Liking the red and green rain drops on the windshield, howevs.

70: Girls win, of course

Patrice and Jeff invited John and me to dinner, NFL play-offs and the requisite girls-against-boys Pictionary at halftime. Patrice leads the way on the trail (my marathon inspiration!) and around the game board. Girls rule!

I liked the chance to put this in B&W with so many great contrasts available.
