In a rare moment of openness, Liam let me take a series of self-portraits with him in them.

Chipotle for lunch

Chipotle, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

I had to create an entry just for this photo. I was experimenting with ISO settings indoors and this photo happened spontaneously. I love it. Captures Caitrin's whole personality in one shot. :)

Her comment on seeing the photo: I'm so glad I painted my nails last night. They look really good.

Toni's 50th birthday

Toni's 50th birthday, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

Today found me out to lunch with some of my dearest homeschooling friends. Toni (second from the left) turned fifty and we celebrated at Don Pablo's. I loved the colorful background! Found ourselves talking about grandchildren, adult children and menopause... yes, I really am in that age group now. :)

365 challenge:
One of the tough things about these one-a-day photos is how many good pictures I'm not posting to this blog! I have a "day in the life of" collection that is growing and think I'll use it for tomorrow. If anyone else has been accumulating a day's worth of typical outings in pictures, I'd love to see yours too. A bit like Donna's self-portrait challenge and Nikki, Laura and Carol's 24 hour day shots. Mine will be a composite of several days (in about 5 shots), but will show some of the sights on my regular routine through the lens of a camera. If you want to join me in doing it, let me know. Could be fun.

Self Portrait

Self Portrait, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

In honor of Donna's suggestion, I took this self portrait today while skiing. I've included my favorite pic of the day below. You can see a full set of pictures (including my cute kids) that show how Indiana makes snow when there is none on the surrounding grounds by clicking on the Perfect North set.

This was my favorite of the day, though I wish the people in the lift were my kids!

Boys Break Stuff

Boys Break Stuff, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

Jacob broke his wrist and Liam broke his glasses. Yeah, they break stuff.

The cast says: "Jacob, You Do NOT Know How Ski!!"
I wanted to say to the writer: "You Do NOT Know How Write!" :)

Everything is Illuminated, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

Liam's left lens has now fallen out of two pairs of glasses in just a few weeks. We lost the first lens and this time, thank heavens, we found it. I looked at the pair on the counter and noticed Johannah's book: Everything is Illuminated behind it and thought: Picture of the Day! I did have to adjust the angle of the glasses to keep the window light to a minimum, but otherwise this is how it looked.

Timed Essay Writing at the Learning Tree

These are some of my advanced composition students at our co-op called the Learning Tree. They are writing timed essays practicing for the ACT. From back to front: Susan, Lee Ann, and Allie.

Snow day love: Sunday

Have to record what may be the only snow play day left for these three. Johannah heads off to college next year and this is the first snow (and perhaps the only) of this winter. They have the pinkest cheeks!

Take a look at those comments! Ampersand (Kim) and I turned the blog into a chat room and talked our way through the whole, exciting game. Too fun!

Morning Blues

Morning Snow, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

SNOW! Finally.

Woke up to a winter wonderland scene. This is the view out of my back sliding glass window where we watch our birds feed. I loved the quality of light.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

Jon took this photo last night when we ushered at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's studio series: "Women of Troy" by Euripides and "The Dumb Waiter" by Harold Pinter. This lovable Cincinnati pig is dressed as Hamlet, naturally, and is wearing a yellow construction hat as they remodel the lobby.
