The beach meets the midwest

The beach meets the midwest, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

This sand dollar sits above my kitchen sink and keeps my oceanic connection alive.

(Incidentally, do any of you notice your colors washing out at all when you upload from your computer to flickr?)

I notice the colors in my photos becoming a little washed out when I upload from my computer to blogspot and of course, the color varies between my powerbook screen and my ibook screen.

And, here's a question for you... has blogspot not let you upload at all sometimes? Last night and this morning, blogspot wouldn't let Jeff or me upload any photos.

Nice photo, btw. I am glad you have a small reminder of the ocean.

I haven't been using blogspot for uploading. I prefer loading directly from flickr. But I think Laura had a similar problem didn't she?

I'm not sure I've ever noticed it personally, but a friend of mine who's an excellent photographer complains all the time that Flickr seems to sharpen one's photos. That's not the case for the original that's available on Flickr--only on the ones they resize for you. So I end up using Photoshop to make my preferred screen size, upload that to Flickr, and link to the original.

If you don't have PS, there are many free programs, like Irfanview.

I like sand dollars, too, and have a couple to remind me of the time we lived near the beach.

I lkie the way the light is making it look so delicate.

About colors, mine are all different depending on which computer I am on.
