The Root Beer Stand

The Root Beer Stand, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

Do you love the kitchy-ness of the midwest or what? Our Root Beer Stand serves the best cold root beer for seventy-five cents. You can get a root beer float for a buck fifty. Here's what the place looks like.

We visited on Wednesday, and I forgot we even took photos! I have photos from today too, but I just can't leave this visit behind.

I've never heard of a root beer stand before. Nice shot, though.

I try really hard to support the independent places around here. Many are like stepping back in time a little and it is really nice.

When we were in NC, a little lost trying to find a restaurant, I noticed a couple of signs (I wasn't quick enough with the camera to capture) advertising "Dr. Root Beer's House of Foam."

It was either kitchy or kinky. :P

When I was a kid, we used to go to a rootbeer stand down on the Jersey shore on hot summer days. They served the rootbeer in glass mugs that had been stored in the freezer so that the sides were frosty. Mmmm ....

It was like that at this stand too, Jo(e). They serve the root beer in fosty glass mugs. The only way to drink root beer, really.
