Chipotle for lunch

Chipotle, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

I had to create an entry just for this photo. I was experimenting with ISO settings indoors and this photo happened spontaneously. I love it. Captures Caitrin's whole personality in one shot. :)

Her comment on seeing the photo: I'm so glad I painted my nails last night. They look really good.

Julie, this is a fabulous shot. Actually the red fingernails totally complete the color composition. Everthing is perfect, the angle, the exposure, the expression. nice. What camera are you using? I am really impressed with the quality of the images. It also appears that the camera has a good range of lens magnification (the wide looks wider than average).

Nikon Coolpix P1. It's a terrific little camera. I posted a link on my sidebar to the Nikon website with its description.

Thanks for your encouraging feedback! I am thrilled with the camera, but even more with the creativity of all the posters (I love your pix!) that are helping me learn composition, even including fingernails. :)

Great! You're right...you caught her personality right there. And the comment about the fingernails is the icing on the cake. What a girl.
I love the resolution you're getting...I don't feel like I'm getting that out of mine, but it is probably a photographer problem rather than equipment in my case! You said you were experimenting with ISO...what did you take this at?

I had been using the museum setting indoors every time but found that if anyone moved a hair, the picture was blurry. So I switched to selecting the ISO on the manual setting. I took a whole series of shots at 400 (which is what this one is). A couple of them that had less light looked grainy, but not this one or any of the others that were shot in the direction of the doors (where lots of light was coming in).

Still a work in progress this photography thing!

love chipotle, but that's yet another thing we don't have in Iowa. That's a wonderful shot, and it's great that she's not photo shy!
