Self Portrait

Self Portrait, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

In honor of Donna's suggestion, I took this self portrait today while skiing. I've included my favorite pic of the day below. You can see a full set of pictures (including my cute kids) that show how Indiana makes snow when there is none on the surrounding grounds by clicking on the Perfect North set.

This was my favorite of the day, though I wish the people in the lift were my kids!

I really like your favorite of the day, too. The almost monochromatic background of lovely shades of winter is nicely off set by the bright red lines of the chair lift. And, I like how the wires from the chair lift lead your eye into the picture.

Cute portrait, too... you snow bunny!

You look mahvelous, dahlink! Glad you're family has taken a shine to downhill ~ although it's kinda funny to see people skiing when there are no mountains around.;-) The red chairlifts against the winterscape make look so captivating. Good eye!

Do you ski or snowboard? The last few times I've gone I've tried snowboarding and like it better, though it leaves me bruised from head to toe! Nice pics, and glad you're enjoying your kiddos in the snow!

You guys are up early or late - not sur which!

I ski. NO snowboarding for me. I don't like having to unlock the boot to do the whole chair lift deal. I like the relaxed pace of skiing more than the challenge of learning something new. Cool that you snowboard though!

Colleen, did you look at my set of photos? I thought of you when I put them together (for Perfect North). It's so crazy how they have to make snow!)

Great self-portrait. I finally got to take Nathan snowboarding Saturday (midnight madness--he was on the slopes from 8pm to 3am) and I was thinking how strange it was that they make the snow....

OK; no self portraits for me. I don't even wear lipstick to work or out to eat, and there you are so glam on the slopes.

I may have to get in the car and drive north. These snow shots are getting to me...

Great self-portrait, and I love the shot back down the lift into the valley. Moutains and snow -- two of my favorite pleasures!!

Julie, I looked at the whole set of photos just now. I honestly didn't know that lifts and lodges would be in place for hills this small. Which isn't to say it can't be fun, but I guess I would've thought a locale like this would just have a t-bar. As for the snow-making, that's been the case throughout the Alps this whole season, just to try and get in some World Cup races! Mt. Baker almost always has the most snow of any ski area in the world, thanks to the Pacific Ocean. Not always the best snow, but lots of it. ;-)

Oh, and I LOVE that photo of all the Rossignols. That is classic! Don't they look like a bunch of penguins?! : )

They DO look like a bunch of penguins. :) I never would have thought to take a photo of the skis except for this project. Very fun.

Fun self-portrait and the view from your "Favorite" is breathtaking. I can't imagine being within driving distance of ski slopes. How wonderful for you and the kids!
