Tibetan Sand Mandala

Tibetan Sand Mandala, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

These five days, Xavier is hosting the Gomang Buddhist monks who are creating a sand mandala for viewing. You can see them in the midst of creating it via webcam here.

Here's a close-up where you can see the long thin tubes that they use to funnel the colored sand.

Thank you for posting an up-close picture. We watched via webcam for a while today, but I was wanting get a closer look. The mandala is so beautiful. And I was wondering what the little "stick" things were. You couldn't tell from the webcam. Thanks again!

Thanks for the close-ups. Like Carrie, I was hoping to get a closer, more detailed look after viewing them on the webcam and you provided that glimpse.
