I'll have my girl text your girl...

Cell phone mania, originally uploaded by juliecinci.

Jacob texted over 200 messages in the first few hours of cell phone ownership. He and Johannah now text each other in the same room. Here: she's texting him while he's on the phone!

In other words, our lives = theater of the absurd.

We signed Luke up for text messaging on his phone so he could get in touch wioth Chelsea during the day (she's on a different carrier so he can't call during the day). We couldn't do unlimited, so we did 250 a month. How naive could we be? He sent or received 1010 in his first month and cost himself $103!

We've now changed plans.

You know, I've kept up pretty well. But texting is the technological and cultural demaracation that has officially puts me in the *old* category.

So be it.

They do look awfully cute here, tho :).

Yep. This cracks me up! Like Amp, texting is one thing I haven't picked up.

I've learned to text! And I'm getting faster.

What you'll discover is that if you don't learn to text, you will never be able to contact your kids who don't live at home. I call, I leve messages, I hear nothing. If I text, however, *instant* response. One of the template texts is "Call me when you get this" and that one works pretty well.

But I've learned to use the T9 setting which makes it almost like typing. I learned all I know not from my kids, though, but another mm mom whose kids are in college. :) Desperate times call for desperate texting measures. :D

Yeah, I was gonna say...texting is fun, but in the hands of teenagers can be *very* expensive...

Julie, I agree. They will respond to text before a phone call. That said, I haven't learned texting yet. :-)

I have sent the occasional text message, but I will never understand people texting each other when they're in the same room. The world is indeed a bizarre place.
