Taming of the Shrew

The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company has a high school company called the Groundlings. Both Johannah and Noah have been a part of it. It meets from Sept. to April every Saturday. This year, Johannah's company produced "The Taming of the Shrew" with a gender twist. The casting reversed all roles. Boys played girl parts and girls played boy parts. Notice "fair Bianca" in the red headband next to Johannah (in the brown leather jacket). Kate is the boy in the red shiny shirt, lipstick ala Rocky Horror Picture Show and the black pants.

Great performances and a trifle sad for our family. Jacob and Liam have no interest in participating in these Shakespeare companies so after seven years of intimate involvement with these professional actors through Noah and Johannah, we'll be bidding them anon.

Downtown near the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's theater. Johannah performed in Taming of the Shrew tonight. My curtain call shot failed so I'll try again tomorrow night. I liked this photo well enough as a substitute.

Though hot cross buns are a British tradition on Good Friday, we've always eaten them on Easter morning.

This picture is from Thursday night. I have wanted to take this photo for awhile now. I can't bring myself to post wilted tulips in the snow for today so you get a view I prefer to look at instead.

This little nursery is on the side of the road about 1/4 mile from my house. I love it in spring when all their little trees bloom. You can see the sun setting in the west over the horizon, too, which makes me believe I can see California... in the distance.

Today, while out shopping for a new violin for Caitrin, we drove right into a snow storm! I told you it was cold yesterday. The two of us took a bunch of pictures which can be viewed from start to finish here. If you see the titles of the shots, you'll also see a pic of the future home of IKEA in our neck of the woods! They broke ground... and then it snowed.

April Lacrosse

You would be correct if you were under the impression that lacrosse is played in spring because it's too cold to play or watch in winter. That must be why parents and fans sit under blankets and wear hats and coats in April. Today's high: 39 degrees.
